Postcrossing
Postcrossing is a global platform to connect people through sending physical postcards.
After someone has created an account on the Postcrossing website, he can request a random address to which he has to send a postcard. In the beginning, someone can request a maximum of five addresses at a time, but as someone has sent more and more cards and they have been registered, he can request more and more addresses at a time. A card is registered by the recipient entering the so-called "Postcard ID" on the Postcrossing website. This is a code consisting of two letters (usually the ISO country code) and a few numbers. The sender must write this code on the card. If the sender has forgotten this, the recipient can ask the Postcrossing team for help to still find the ID, which is successful in the vast majority of cases.
When a card is registered, the address of the person who sent the card is released once in the database. Any other participant who requests an address after that will then receive that address and the sender of the card can then also expect a new card. If a card has not been registered after 60 days, it is marked as "expired". The sender may still request a new address without registering the card, but the card can still be registered afterwards. After 365 days, the card is completely deleted and registration is no longer possible.
A user can indicate in the profile whether he finds it desirable to also send cards within his own country borders. It is also possible for a user to participate as a group such as a school or organization. Source Wikipedia.
The cards that Hollandskaartje.nl offers are all very suitable for Postcrossing. The images on our cards are typically Dutch. Many people from abroad wish to receive a card with a Dutch image. Because Postcrossers usually send many cards, we offer cheap cards and they are even cheaper to obtain in small packages with themes.
